LEO GRAND

Leo Grand is a Composer, and Sound Design Artist…
He was featured by Behance in collaboration with 3D Artist Tom Vasset, and he has music featured in projects by Porsche, Mercedes, CFL, ASRV and BMG Australia. Additionally, Leo's compositions appeared in the documentary “Mike Tyson Training Francis Ngannou” in partnership with Lens Distortions.
Most recently, his music was placed as the title card song for the BBC series “Extraordinary Portraits”, further expanding his presence in international television
Gabriel Smetzer’s Light Field Aberration series is a set of motion studies that explore fluid, glowing forms, light-based motion, and spatial depth. The visual world he created felt inherently musical — inviting a sound response that could enhance without distracting.
I composed original sonic branding elements for three of the pieces, using a consistent palette of warm ambient textures and bell-infused tonal gestures. While each animation had its own pacing and energy, I kept a unified sonic identity across the series — showcasing my approach to sonic branding: immersive, textural, and designed to support a visual language.
The result is a set of cohesive audiovisual experiences that feel part of the same sonic universe, offering subtle tonal cues that enhance mood, depth, and motion.

Music & Sound Design for Visual Artist Evelyne Philippart
This project was a speculative collaboration with motion designer Evelyne Philippart, whose bold, vibrant visuals instantly reminded me of retro handheld gaming—think Gameboy meets modern motion design. I wanted the soundtrack to feel just as alive as her visuals, so I handled both the composition and the full sound design, creating a tight integration between audio and motion.
The score blends nostalgic 8-bit sound textures—like classic Gameboy blips, chiptune arps, and glitchy FX—with a more modern, cinematic twist. I layered crunchy pulses, detuned leads, and punchy low-end synths to give the piece an edge that feels both playful and sophisticated. The result is an immersive soundscape that captures the joy of pixel-era aesthetics, while elevating it with contemporary production and rhythm.
Every sound, from UI-style bloops to textural transitions, was custom-built to match Evelyne’s visual cues and amplify the storytelling. This was a chance to really explore the intersection of visual identity and sonic branding, and it represents the kind of detailed, hybrid work I love doing.
This short spec ad, created in collaboration with visionary 3D designer Amin Ali, presented an exciting challenge: to craft a sonic identity that matched the sleek, futuristic visuals and elevated the emotional impact of the piece.
I was brought on to handle sound design and original composition, building everything from the ground up. The goal was to create a seamless fusion between motion and sound — balancing sharp, digital textures with atmospheric depth and cinematic tension.
This project is a great example of my hybrid scoring style — blending electronic elements, ambient layers, and rhythmic sound design to bring 3D motion work to life.
Nike Mercurial Spec Ad – In collaboration with animator Amin Ali, this high-energy spec ad pushes the limits of motion and sound. Featuring aggressive, sound design-driven music, the piece captures the raw speed, precision, and intensity of the Nike Mercurial. Every frame is infused with kinetic energy, as abstract visuals and dynamic animation mirror the explosive performance of the shoe. The score blends pulsating textures, distorted impacts, and electrifying synths to create an immersive, high-octane experience.

This project was selected as a creative exercise to refine and challenge my skills in both sound design and music composition. Using the original visuals crafted by Future Deluxe and the initial audio by Zelig Sound as a reference point, I reimagined the sonic landscape to reflect my own artistic interpretation. The current audio—composed and designed entirely by me—represents an exploration of texture, pacing, and emotional tone, aimed at enhancing the visual narrative while showcasing my evolving approach to hybrid soundscapes. This piece serves as a personal benchmark in my ongoing development as a composer and sound design artist.
Collaborated with visionary director Noah Kim (NewKino) to craft bespoke sound design for a stylized visual project to create a light, playful soundscape for a charming animated piece. The design features glitchy pops and crackles to bring the robot character to life, along with soft swooshes that give a sense of gentle motion and flight. The sound subtly supports the animation’s tone—techy, cute, and full of personality.
